LUSH SKINCARE ROUTINE

I've never actually had a skincare routine or at least one I've actually attempted to keep up with so this was a bit of a challenge for me. But, I decided to try out an all lush routine because I've heard some good things plus it's all natural which I hoped would mean I wouldn't break out.

When I was first looking online for the products I was going to choose, I was actually pretty surprised by the prices since the product containers seemed pretty tiny. But, in reality it's actually pretty inexpensive compared to some high end skincare lines that you can get from Sephora etc.. Plus, you only need a small amount of product each time you use it which is pretty good too. I only ended up buying two products to start to see the results before buying some more.

I got the Angels on Bare Skin cleanser and the Celestial moisturizer (click the links to find the products)

I got the smallest size for the Angels cleanser which was 100g ($15.95) and the only size available for the Celestial moisturizer which was 45g ($25.95).

I've been using them basically everyday for about a month now (but only at night after I take off my makeup). I should probably be doing it in the morning as well but I'm just impressed that I managed to keep up with doing it once a day.

The Angels cleanser I has little lavender buds (??) in it and I'm obsessed with anything lavender so I love the smell. It makes my skin feel pretty clean afterwards but kind of tight (is that normal not sure). And when I said you don't need a lot I meant it, all you need its about a dime sized portion (or a small ball). I don't know if you can really see the texture of the product in the picture but it's a lot like a sugar scrub becuase it has pieces of almonds in it. You're supposed to make it into a paste so I usually just put a little bit of water and use my finger to try and mix it into a paste-ish consistency. Then I put it on my face and scrub in circular motions. You could use as much product as you like but I find the more I use the more I waste because when you begin to wash your face it kind of crumbles everywhere. It is a fairly messy process so be warned you're going to have this stuff all over the sink and in your hair. Or maybe I'm just a disaster and it's not supposed to be that messy but who knows. I would suggest rinsing with warm water first and then running a facecloth under that water and using that to get the rest of the stuff off!

So overall I think it's pretty average and it didn't cause me to break out which was major thing I was worried about. But I don't think it's really done much in the month or so I've been using it. So I mean was it the best product out there? No probably not, but if you're into vegan, all natural products I'd say this is a good alternative to the not so natural choices out there. To be honest, I think it was more trouble than it's worth but I'll probably continue to use it until I change products.

Then there's the moisturizer, oh boy. To get things started I don't really like the smell, some people might it but I'm not one of them. I think I was expecting a strong vanilla smell and it's not, it's cocoa butter, something else and a little bit of vanilla. So that was the first thing, second thing is that it made me super oily. Like never in my life have I had oily skin. But, as soon as I started using this moisturizer my face started looking like a bald man's head no joke. Just like the cleanser all you need to use is a dime size amount of product, so it wasn't like I was using a lot. If you have dry, sensitive skin I think they may be better for you than it was for me. I feel like this might be better to use in the winter time when my skin gets drier but for the spring/summer it's going to be a no go for me. The only reason why I don't have much left in the container is because it slipped out of my hand while I was using it and literally went everywhere in my bathroom, EVERYWHERE. But, as long as you aren't a mess like me it should last you a long time, unless you're caking it on like multiple times a day (which I wouldn't suggest unless you too want to look like a bald man's shiny ass head or have super duper dry skin).

I've kinda started using it as a just a regular body moisturizer before bed because I've almost run out of my normal Sleepy lavender moisturizer (which is a 10/10 AND WAS OBVIOUSLY A LIMITED TIME PRODUCT BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND IT). But, yeah I'm going to try and finish it because I'm not going waste the money I spent on it.

I'm going to go back to Lush this week and buy the Ocean Salt face scrub. I'll see if doing that scrub a couple times a week might be helpful to this overall routine but yeah I'm going start looking for some new products. So if you have any suggestions comment below.

RESULTS:

CLEANSER

6/10

- mediocre

- kind of messy

- does leave you feeling clean

- nice smell

- probably going to last forever

- pretty good price

MOISTURIZER

4/10

- I don't like the smell that much

- made me oily

- better for dry skin or winter time

- lasts a long time

- price isn't horrible (but wasn't worth $26 in my opinion)
